It's Been A While!!!

I'm so sorry for the long time away. It's been a very hectic month! I would love to promise that I won't disappear again, but with things being so crazy right now, who knows. I'm going to do my best to post at least once a week!!

Anyway... my first post since my absense is a picture of a gift I made for a great friend of mine!! This girl has been so helpful to me over these last difficult times. I truly don't know what I would do without her. I am going to have lunch with her tomorrow, and I wanted to show her how greatful I am to have her... So I made her this book. She buys a lot of my cards, and I thought she really needed something to store them in. :-) I hope she likes it!! Sue Reynolds from my Stampin Up! demonstrators meeting brought in a similar one to show us. She used the Summer Picnic DSP for hers. I'm a little stingy with mine, so I used Jersey Shore.

Garden Whimsy

Ok, so if you have visited my blog lately, you may have noticed a couple of things... The first is that I haven't posted much lately. The second is that most of my recent posts have been CASE's from other blogs. Well... I have been a bit creatively challenged lately. I know it's just stress, and I really do plan to get back to being creative soon, but until then, I have a few more cards I want to make that I found and loved in blogland!

This card is no different. I found this card at Cindy's Stamping Studio. It's a great blog, you should check it out. I did change a couple little things.

Recipe:
SU! Stamp sets: Garden Whimsy, Celebrate Everything
SU! Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
SU! Ink: Blue Bayou, Certainly Celery, Purely Pomegranite, Whisper White
Ribbon: Purely Pomegranite; Gold SU! Brads

Wow!!!

What a week!! Between our craft class and my very first workshop, I have had a busy week. Oh, plus getting ready to spend 3 days at Stagecoach!! For those of you not in Southern California, Stagecoach is 3 fabulous days of country music concerts! I can't wait!!!

My first workshop went well. I had 3 guests, plus my hostess. They made 2 cards and placed their orders. It was a pretty successful workshop, I thought. And now I know I can do it! :-)

These are the cards we made..

Hostess Gift

Well... next Sunday I have my first workshop! I've been a demo almost 3 years, and I have done plenty of workshops/demos at my home, but I have never ventured out to do a workshop. A really great gal I went to high school with was kind enough to book a party through me and I am really excited about it. To show my appreciation, I made her a gret little hostess gift! I love it and I hope she likes it too! I found the tutorial over at http://leslierich.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ and I just loved it! Here is a picture of the version I made for my hostess. Wish me luck with my first out of my comfort zone party! :-)

Happy Monday!

Now, for the hard part. Picking 10 blogs that I love. I have so many blogs that I visit almost daily, that it will be hard to chose!

These are blogs that I check as often as I can. They always provide me inspiration and make me want to be a better stamper and a better demonstrator!

WSC43 and LSC162

This one is a two-fer... I made this card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. There was also another blog I found that had the challenge of using only white and 1 other color. Of course, I cannot find that blog now. Once I find it, I will link it up.

Update: I found it!!!

It was a challenge on Splitcoast Stampers LSC162.

Thanks for looking and Happy Sunday!

CASE'd card

Well... it's been a while! I have had a lot going on at home and haven't had much opportunity to get out my stamps and make anything creative! I'm glad to be back!! :-)

I got the new Tart and Tangy set last week, so of course it was the first set I got out today! Unfortunately, my mind is in a lot of places right now, so I was struggling getting the creative juices flowing! So to get started, I CASE'd this card from stampnscrapwithval. I love it, and thought it would be a great card to add to my collection!!

I hope you enjoy it!! She has a great blog, that I visit often...

Thanks for looking and Happy Sunday!

Love Flip Flops!

I saw these on the About A Girl blog. It's a blog I have come to visit often. And it seemed really easy, so I thought I would try it out for myself! Her's are made with the summer picnic DSP and the Tart and Tangy set. Mine DSP and T&T won't arrive until today, so I had to improvise over the weekend! And I LOVE FLIP FLOPS!!! Been a flip flop fan for many years, so I am always glad for another opportunity to use this set!

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Good morning... For my first time ever, I decided to attempt a Splitcoast Color Challenge. And of course, I picked the day to do this when all 4 colors are colors I never use. I couldn't imagine putting them together. However, I actually liked the way it turned out. :-)

Under Construction...

So... my craft room was a mess! I was so sick of triping over my exercise bike, and it always looked so unorganized! So... this weekend, I decided to do something about it! I am still working on it, because I have very large cabinet that needs to be moved out of the room and my brother couldn't come help me until tonight, but here is what I have gotten done so far. I love it! Unfortunately, it's made stamping a little difficult right now because I have so much stuff and don't know where half of it is! Ok... that is always the way it is for me, but it's worse right now. LOL
These are some shelves I hung in my closet. The closet is funny shaped because it was added on during my remodel last year.
See all the boxes and mess in this picture. I still have a lot to do!!

This is right above my table. So all my punches and a few of my other main supplies are very handy. I am going to need to change this a little, but haven't done it yet. :-) I will post pictures when I get it all done.

Thanks for looking! Happy Wednesday!

Yah Jen!!!

I'm so excited to announce that I have a new blogging friend!! Jen has started her own blog at http://rockstarscrappin.blogspot.com/. She is a brand new Stampin Up! demonstrator, and my Stampin Up! sister! Samantha is our upline! She doesn't have any pics of her stuff posted yet, but she makes beautiful cards!! I happen to have this card on my computer from a swap we did earlier this year. Isn't it great?? Welcome Jen!

Happy Thursday

Good morning! Well... it's Thursday, and this week I have not had a moment to post anything creative! In fact, I haven't had a moment to do anything creative. :-) Between spending the weekend in Big Bear, our dental check ups, a meeting with my son's teacher and principal (my honors/GATE student is getting a D) to the Class of 2012 Welcome To High School meeting (OMG, my son is about to start High School!!), I have been a busy little girl.

So... this morning I went through my box of stuff that I've made in the past and pulled out a few things. I love making cards, but I also like to make other stuff too. I thought sharing some of these other things might give you a little insight in to me. :-) I hope you enjoy!!
This is a cute little scrapbook I made with a 12 x 12 Stampin Up! kit and some envelopes. As cute as they are, they are usually a lot of work, so I don't make them very often. :-)
I'll post more through out the day!
Thanks for looking and Happy Thursday!

I got an award!!!

I received this award from my blogging BFF Denise. It is the Arte Y Pico (Art & More) Award and is given to bloggers who share their art and creativity making their contribution to the blogging world. Thank you for this Denise! What an exciting honor!!

The rules!

1. You have to pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and the link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of Arte y Pico blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. To show these rules.

Now it's my turn to pick 5 great blogs to be awarded. What a difficult task! Since my two favorite bloggers, Denise and Samantha, have already been chosen, I want to pick 5 new blogs. And the winners are... Dawn Easton, Sharon Rivera, Michelle P Fisher, Catherine, and Erin. I love all these blogs, visiting most of them daily. I love seeing all their great creations!!

Thanks again for this award Denise!

I love Rock N Roll!!!

Happy Friday!! I love Fridays, aren't they great??

Anyways... I also love Rock N Roll. Yah, the music, but I'm actually talking about the technique! I've been a little creatively challenged the last couple of weeks, so I spent yesterday looking at so many fabulous blogs. And low and behold, I find a great card that uses the rock and roll technique! So... I promptly copy the picture to my desktop so that I can take it home and CASE it! And while I was having fun in blogland, I copied about 30 more cards that I really loved and thought I could CASE or recreate to make my own. All I needed was a few ideas to get me started, right?? Well. Sort of! I took the picture of the card home and started away. I wanted to change the colors, but other than that, I was all about copying, bit by bit. :-) Only, I screwed it up and made the stamped image too big. Oops... So this was my first attempt.

I really liked the way this card came out, but it still wasn't what I was trying for... So then I made this card.

I really like this card! I love the colors and I love the Rock N Roll!!! By the way, I CASE'd this from Stamp Workshop. It's a great blog, you should check it out!
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
